About Vanderwoude Sod
John Vanderwoude Sod Farms began in 1969, with John Vanderwoude operating with just one truck, purchasing sod and delivering it to his own customers. His wife Grace answered the phone, taking orders and dispatching, at the same time raising their large family.
In 1985, John began his own sod farm in the Hamilton area. The company has since grown rapidly, serving both wholesale and retail customers.

Commitment to Quality
In keeping with our mission, we are always learning about the turfgrass industry to provide the best product to our customer. During our winter months, we seize the opportunity to attend turf courses and educational seminars. This keeps us informed of the latest seed blends, helps us upgrade our fertilizer program and it allows us to check out any new equipment that could enhance our turfgrass production.
